Integrating with SmartAdvocate.com

Overview

The SmartAdvocate integration is bidirectional. This means Practice AI doesn't just "read" your case data; it can also "write" finished documents and summaries directly back into the SmartAdvocate document tab, ensuring your "Source of Truth" is always up to date.

Setup Steps

  1. Request API Access: SmartAdvocate requires a secure connection. Contact your SmartAdvocate Account Manager or Support to request your API Credentials (Client ID and Secret).

  2. Enable in Practice AI: In your Practice AI dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations > SmartAdvocate.

  3. Authentication: Enter your credentials and your firm’s specific SmartAdvocate URL (e.g., yourfirm.smartadvocate.com). Click Connect.

  4. Field Mapping: You will see a "Mapping" screen. Ensure that "Medical Records" in SmartAdvocate maps to "Source Documents" in Practice AI. This allows the AI to find the right files automatically.

How to Use It

  • Instant Case Summarization: Open any matter in Practice AI and select "Sync from SmartAdvocate." The AI will pull the Case Summary, Injury Tab, and Medical Provider list to build a comprehensive case profile instantly.

  • Auto-Discovery Prep: Use the AI to analyze incoming discovery from SmartAdvocate. The AI can flag missing medical providers or inconsistent statements compared to the initial intake.

  • The "Zero-Click" Save: Once you finalize a Demand Letter or Medical Chronology in Practice AI, it is automatically pushed to the Documents section of that case in SmartAdvocate, tagged as "AI-Generated Draft."
